Alison has Diplomas in Community Services (Children’s Services), Disabilities and Case Management completing them over the last 25 years with further training in Mental Health, Complex Trauma and Advocacy.
Before joining Patches, Alison worked in Child care Centre’s and at Out of Home Care and support Services, including Educational supports. In the different roles Alison has supported and nurtured those in her care to grow and develop and reach their full potential.
Alison has worked with children and young adults with a range of diagnoses and learning difficulties including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, Central Auditory Processing Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Mental Health, Intellectual Disability, complex trauma and children referred due to challenging behaviour. One of her fields of speciality and passion is working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Alison is a Mum to two children on the Autism Spectrum including anxiety, depression, learning disabilities and everything else that brings. With knowledge and understanding of all that comes with being a parent of a child with special needs, Alison is here to support those going through the journey.
Alison began working with Patches since 2022. In Alison’s spare time, she enjoys crafting, drawing, painting, and going on outdoor adventures with her family.
