Courtney has a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Sports Science and Rehabilitation (Exercise Physiology) which she completed at Edith Cowan University, Perth; graduating in 2019.
Before joining Patches, Courtney worked in Privet Practice working with NDIS participants, WorkCover, Private Clients and Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA). Courtney worked with a number of children, adolescents and adults with multiple disabilities, returned Veterans, injured workers and musculoskeletal rehabilitation (often pre or post surgery). Working in a multi-disciplinary team of Physiologists, Podiatry and Chiropractor’s. Courtney has also provided group and individual therapy and hydrotherapy to young adolescents and adults for an eight week program targeting education as well as exercise to assit each client in achieving their specific goals, such as weight loss, improved range of motion, increase strength, decrease pain and increase independence in many areas of their life.
Courtney has worked with children and adults with a range of diagnoses and learning difficulties including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, Down Syndrome, Central Auditory Processing Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Intellectual Disability, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, Aquired Brain Injury, Different Levels of Amputation, Diabetes, Spinal Cord Injury, Cerebral Palsy, Motor Neuron Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Other Rare Neurological Disorders, Psycho-social Disorders (schizophrenia, Bipolar, Depression and many more) and adults, adolescents and children referred with challenging behaviours.
Courtney is currently completing further education into Diabetes Education, to further her understanding of complex disorders associated with all types of Diabetes. She is passionate about making a difference in peoples lives and helping to achieve goals that are belived to be unachievable. Courtney began working with Patches since April 2021. In Courtney’s spare time, she enjoys Travelling, playing women’s AFL, camping, fishing and going on road trips with her friends.
