Donna Newton

Speech Pathologist

Donna has a Bachelor of Speech Pathology which she completed at Flinders University, Adelaide; graduating in 2009.

Before joining PATCHES, Donna has worked in a variety of settings in Darwin, Alice Springs, and Adelaide. Throughout her career Donna has had opportunity to work in community health in multidisciplinary teams, within mainstream schools and various private practices.

Donna has experience working with children of all ages, and with a broad range of diagnoses and learning difficulties including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, Central Auditory Processing Disorder, and Intellectual Disability. Donna is a Hanen certified Speech Pathologist for the program “More than Words”, and has completed a range of professional development courses including Marte Meo, Floortime, Key Word Signing and Play and Literacy in the early years.

Donna began working with PATCHES in Port Hedland (February 2021), and following an interstate move via telehealth (from July 2021). Donna is passionate about empowering families to support their child’s communication development. In Donna’s spare time, she enjoys reading, spending time with her two young children and catching up with friends.
