Dr Joel Crucitti


Dr Joel Crucitti completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) and PhD (researching about Autism Spectrum Disorder) at Deakin University and recently completed a Masters of Educational Psychology at the University of Melbourne in 2021. He is currently registered as a General Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as well as a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

Before joining Patches, Joel worked in varying Psychology-related areas. These include: Behaviour Support Practitioner, Team Leader for camps for parentally bereaved children/young people and their families, and disability support.

Joel is currently employed as a Psychologist at Patches in Darwin 1) completing assessments throughout the Northern Territory for private clients, Education, Territory Families, Community Corrections, Justice, and the NT Parole Board, and 2) providing therapeutic psychological support to individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions.

When providing therapeutic psychological support, Joel is interested in working with both children and parents/carers in supporting children with a range of diagnoses and learning difficulties; including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, Intellectual Disability, and children referred due to challenging behaviour. He incorporates an evidence-based model to help the parent build their capacity when things are difficult and to consolidate the parents’ new responses in sessions with the parents/carers and child together.

In Joel’s spare time, he enjoys playing basketball, listening to audiobooks, being with friends and family, and going on outdoor adventures.
