Michelle has a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology which she completed at Edith Cowan University, Perth; graduating in 2018. Michelle is currently working towards her Masters in Speech Pathology.
Before joining Patches, Michelle worked in private practice working with children with disabilities, including a large number with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Michelle worked in a multidisciplinary team where she provided one-on-one and group therapy. Prior to this she also worked in Kalgoorlie at a Child Development Centre which had a focus on early intervention for young children who hadn’t started talking yet.
Michelle has worked with children with a range of diagnoses and learning difficulties including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, Intellectual Disability, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Stuttering, feeding concerns and children who use alternative communication such as communication devices and Key Word Sign. One of her fields of specialty and passion is working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and children with speech delays/disorders.
Michelle began working with Patches in 2022. In her spare time, she enjoys going camping, playing football and going to the beach.
