Funding options

A positive start towards a healthier and more independent future.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new way of providing support for Australians living with a disability, their families, and carers. It provides funding specifically for individuals based on their needs, giving them choice and control over the support and service they access.

As an insurance scheme, the NDIS takes a long-term, holistic approach, investing in people with disability early to improve their outcomes later in life.

Am I eligible for the NDIS?

There is a specific process involved with being eligible for the NDIS. Factors such as age, type and functional impacts of disability, and residence must be considered prior to receiving funding under the NDIS. You can find out if you’re eligible by completing the eligibility checklist on the NDIS website. (https://www.ndis.gov.au/applying-access-ndis/am-i-eligible)

Patches friendly staff are also here to answer any questions you may have in terms of your NDIS eligibility. It is never too soon to contact Patches for support. Once you are eligible within the NDIS, Patches provides support coordination and plan management to help you navigate the NDIS and access the right services for you.

Fees and Medicare

All referrals and bookings made at Patches that include diagnostic assessments and therapy services can be partially covered by Medicare. Medicare pays a rebate for a set number of paediatric, psychiatry, psychological, speech pathology, physiotherapy and exercise physiology, and occupational therapy services.

Private Health Insurance

Not eligible for government funding? You can utilise our services privately for a fee. You may be eligible to claim rebates for diagnostic assessments and therapeutic services through your private health insurance provider. Please speak directly to your private health insurance fund for further information regarding your eligibility.

Rural Health Outreach Fund and Medical Outreach Indigenous Chronic Disease Program

The Australian Government’s Rural Health Outreach Fund and Medical Outreach – Indigenous Chronic Disease Program supports Patches medical, psychology and allied health providers to deliver services to remote and regional communities, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities throughout WA and the NT. If your school or community organisation would like to partner with Patches to secure this funding for your community, we will work with you to complete a funding application. For more information email enquiries@patches.com.au

Cancellation Policy

We strive to provide quality allied health, psychology and medical services to all Australians. Our clients are our utmost priority. Late arrivals, non attendance and last-minute cancellations inconvenience not only our providers, but our other clients as well.

When you book your appointment, you are holding a space on our calendar that is no longer available to our other clients. Please call or email your local Patches clinic or contact person as soon as you know you will not be able to make your appointment.

If cancellation is necessary, appointments are in high demand, so please be mindful to speak to us when you know you cannot make it to an appointment. Our cancelation policy and fees charged for non attendance varies based on circumstances and which service you are accessing.
